‘Botox’

Botulinum Toxins (commonly collectively referred to as botox) are used aesthetically to decrease the appearance of aging by reducing muscle movement. Generally, results are visible within two to ten days. To reduce the possibility of bruising/swelling, it is recommended to avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours and aspirin/anti-inflammatory medications for a period of two weeks prior to the procedure. As always, consult your physician before stopping any medications. The most common side effects of Botulinum Toxin injections are bruising, redness, and swelling. Other, rare side effects are possible and will be reviewed by the treating physician. To avoid adverse reactions/results, do not manipulate the treated area for 2 hours after injections and maintain an upright position. The aesthetic effects of Botulinum Toxin typically last three to four months. As the treated muscles regain movement, lines and wrinkles will begin to reappear and require retreatment. Over time, these lines and wrinkles should appear less noticeable due to training the treated muscles to relax. Typically used FDA approved botulinum toxins include Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and Jeaveau to name a few. We are experienced in the treatment of:

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are smooth injectable gels made from naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers add volume to weakened facial features and can stimulate collagen growth. Each dermal filler is unique in its own way but similar in two. First, they plump skin and gently lift it to restore collagen loss due to the normal aging process. Secondly, dermal fillers motivate the body to create its own natural collagen and restore your face to a more natural, youthful appearance. Dermal fillers approved by the FDA are minimally invasive and very safe. As with any procedure, there are possible risks, the most common being post-procedure bruising and swelling which are usually very minimal and resolve quickly. Dermal filler treatments typically take 20-40 minutes and the amount of dermal filler needed will depend on volume loss and the areas you would like to restore to its natural beauty. Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)

PRF is the latest, best, all natural and safest technique to achieve optimal facial rejuvenation. It goes beyond PRP (platelet rich plasma) and although there are some basic similarities between them, it is the differences between these two products that makes PRF stand out as a superior treatment option. During this procedure, your blood is collected and spun slowly in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the platelet rich fibrin. Unlike as in PRP, this is done without using any anticoagulant in PRF and is completely natural and additive free. The resultant PRF cells are richer in platelets, leukocytes and mesenchymal stem cells with a richer fibrin scaffold. There are more healing factors within PRF than is typically seen in PRP. In addition, the lower spin speed causes less trauma to the individual cells of the blood, allowing more stem cells to remain in the final PRF product.

Since PRF is made from the client’s own cells, there is virtually no risk of side effects. Minimal downtime with both PRF injections and microneedling. Results typically begin to show 3-4 weeks after treatment and continue to improve over time. For best results, three treatments are generally recommended, spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. Clients typically report smoother skin texture and improved tone, decreased wrinkles and fine lines and an overall firmer appearance.

Microneedling

One of today’s most highly requested treatments, microneedling improves skin’s firmness while reducing the appearance of fine lines and acne scars, all with minimal downtime. Considered a nonablative treatment, microneedling treats deeper levels of the skin without removing the top layer.

Microneedling uses a minimally invasive pen-shaped device studded with several very fine needles, which is passed over the treatment area(s). It creates controlled micro injuries to the skin. The needles break down old tissue, causing deliberate minor injury to the skin’s surface thereby stimulating the healing process. Over time, new collagen is produced and the result is younger, healthier, more beautiful looking skin. Microneedling is in high demand because results are noticeable and downtime is minimal. Other microneedling benefits include cost effectiveness (less expensive than other resurfacing procedures), improved efficacy of topical agents used in conjunction with microneedling, pore size reduction, scar reduction including acne scars, improved appearance of stretch marks, wrinkle reduction, suitable for most skin types, may treat face and body i.e. neck, decollette, arms, hands, legs abdomen and back. Microneedling can be used alone or with serums that are infused deeply into the skin. Hyaluronic acid to add moisture and reduce wrinkles, Vitamin C to rejuvenate skin, skin lighteners to reduce hyperpigmentation,  various acne-fighting ingredients that destroy bacteria. Microneedling may have some pin point bleeding. There may be some mild swelling, redness and bruising which typically dissipate in 1-3 days. The skin is pink and puffy for 24-48 hours after treatment. Dryness may occur, daily moisturizer recommended. Sunblock is highly encouraged the next day and throughout the healing process.
